Idea and concept came from The Text African Zion: The Sacred Art of Ethiopia which is the the art of highland Christian Ethiopia - with its icon paintings on wood, metal processional crosses, gold coins, and manuscripts - is largely unknown in the West. This book presents a survey of this art from the 4th to the 18th centuries, and addresses the function of art within Ethiopian society.

That’s the motto at the Sunshine Adult Daycare Center which held an open house at 121 Broadway in Monticello recently to celebrate the opening of their new Monticello branch. Sunshine has a unique philosophy when it comes to helping senior citozen take full advantage of their golden years. The facility specilizes in treating conditions such as Alzheimer’s and Dementia, like other daycare and assisted living facilities, but they maintain the things that make life worth living in the first place: music, laughter and friendship. Seniors and staff, as well as town and village officials, packed Sunshine’s open house party. They savored the music and dance performances of Rafael Roque and the Moticello Step Club.
